proval
In your sevingrum No. 146 of the 5th February you sought my approval to allow the Company to teminate the contract and my covering authority for A supplementury provision to mmable you to refund 75/1 of the premium paid to them Less $10,519. My of both these requests was conveyed in my saving No. 16 of the 4th May. In paragraph 9 or your sens paving you asked me to condust negotiations on your behalf, on the above basis, with the Frincipals of the Company. This I did, and informed you in my saving No. 509 of the 29th May, that the Company had accepted these terms.
2. I am now advised that as the offer to the Company was not originally made conditional upon Finance Committee's consent, it is most improbable that its terms could be changed now. I fear I mict press you to explain this position to Finance Committee and to give further consideration to the question or the refund. Until this has been done, 1 do not propose to make any further approach to the Company.
